Beck Yuan is a gifted teacher and performer who incorporates both modern and traditional pedagogical methods with her students.

She began her studies at the early age of 6 in Brantford Ontario. At the age of 7, Becky moved to Winnipeg Manitoba. Under the tutelage of Thelma Wilson, Becky won many awards and scholarships. She performed with the Junior Musical Club of Winnipeg Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg and the Wednesday Morning Musicale, making her radio debut at the age of 8. In 4 years of study, Becky was practicing and performing repertoire at the Grade 10 level of the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Upon moving back to Ontario, teachers she has studied under include Dr. Janet Lopinski (chief examiner of the Royal Conservatory), Mr. Leon Karan (currently a piano instructor at McMaster University). She holds an ARCT diploma for Piano Teaching with First Class Honours from the Royal Conservatory of Music as well as an Honours Bachelor Degree from the University of Toronto.

Becky is an active theory and piano teacher in the Mississauga and Oakville area.

In the community, Becky is actively working with nonprofit organizations that support children and the visually impaired. In 1999, Becky received the Volunteerism award from the Ontario Government, and in 2004, Becky received the Mississauga Civic Recognition award from Mayor Hazel MacCallion for her work with the visually impaired.
